The Investment Studies Center (ISC) at Union of Investment Companies (UIC) held a training program titled “Financial & Valuation Modeling Boot Camp" during the period (Monday - Thursday) 18th – 21st March 2019, from 08:30AM to 04:00PM, at Radisson Blu Hotel Kuwait. Mr. Brad Barlow, a former UBS investment banker, delivered the course to the delegates from UIC member companies and other entities, even from out of Kuwait.
In this regard, Ms. Fadwa Darwish, ISC Acting Director & Director of Technical Support at UIC reported that due to the last successful sessions of this technical course, and due to the high demand by many financial professionals from different companies and entities inside and outside Kuwait, this is the fifth version of the same program, taking into consideration the continuous development of the content of the program according to the latest developments. There were 19 participants in this session of the course.
The topics covered in the seminars included the best practices of constructing financial models and forecasting financial statements, the methodologies used to estimate enterprise and equity value, and the modeling and valuation considerations of mergers and acquisitions. Participants learned by using real-world case studies and building practical models in Excel. They'll now apply modeling best practices when returning to their desks this week. They'll also continue to stay faster and more efficient than their peers because they received lifetime access to Wall Street Prep's video-based online modeling courses.
At the end of the program, the participants received their certificates, who were from: National Bank of Kuwait, Boubyan Bank, Al-Watani Investment Company (NBK Capital), Kuwait Financial Centre (MARKAZ), as well as entities outside of Kuwait including Saudi Aramco, adding to the participations from outside Kuwait.
