In cooperation with the Public Authority of Manpower, the Investment Studies Center (ISC) at Union of Investment Companies (UIC) held a public seminar on the Kuwaiti Labor Law entitled "Obligations of the Employer in Accordance with Kuwaiti Labor Law No. 6 of 2010", on Wednesday, 13/02/2019 at 10:00 am at UIC premises located in Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
ISC hosted Mr. Sultan Mohammed Al-Zu'bi, Head of the Labor Disputes Department the Public Authority of Manpower to introduce the seminar, which all companies have been invited to attend it, in a pursue to permeate the desired interest.
Ms. Fadwa Darwish, ISC Acting Director & Director of Technical Support at UIC, said that organizing the seminar is based on the training requirements of UIC member companies to shed the light on the Kuwaiti Labor Law, its latest developments and the decisions implemented by it.
Mr. Sultan Al-Zu'bi shed light on the definition of the Labor Law, the definition of the labor contract and the obligations of the parties to the employment contract, especially the employer's obligations stipulated in Law No. 6 of 2010, such as wages and the concept of remuneration. As well as the holidays that the worker is entitled to during the year from official, sick and annual leave, maternity leave, child care, and the commitment of the employer to provide security requirements for working women after ten o'clock at night, and its commitment to grant working end of service certificate and the conditions for granting women working hours breastfeeding and how to organize them.
At the end of the seminar, questions and discussions were opened to answer the audience's questions.

Also, UIC stresses the importance of such activities that assists investment companies, including the right mechanisms to apply the laws and answer the inquiries of concerned companies, in order to achieve the public interest by achieving the legislator's goal and assisting the concerned in applying the law to the correct understanding and safety of application.
