The Investment Studies Center (ISC), the training arm of Union of Investment Companies (UIC) held a training program on "Operational & Market Risk". This program was held virtually through a series of interactive sessions over six days during the period from 22nd to 30th April 2024.
Mrs. Fadwa Darwish – UIC Secretary General, stated that the training program came to raise awareness and enhance understanding about operational risks and their tools and techniques, as it aims to enable employees in companies and financial institutions to better understand operational risks, and acquire the knowledge and necessary tools to identify, evaluate and mitigate the operational and market risks, the matter that helps them achieve sustainable growth and financial stability.
The program included several main topics, where a detailed explanation of operational risks and the extent of their impact on companies and institutions was provided, in addition to introducing the tools and techniques used in analyzing and managing these risks. Market risks and how to measure and manage them effectively were discussed, and the program included practical case studies drawn from real work environments, which enabled participants to hone their experience and enrich their knowledge so that they can effectively contribute to successfully implementing risk management strategies within their organizations.
Mrs. Fadwa Darwish concluded her statement by pointing out that UIC has always provided training programs at the highest level that meet the needs of companies and financial institutions with the aim of contributing to developing the capabilities of human resources and increasing their efficiency, out of belief in the importance of qualifying and empowering the human element in order to achieve sustainable economic development.
